Welcome to Coo and Riku, a delightful pet shop and cat cafe nestled in the vibrant heart of Shinjuku, Tokyo. Located on the 2nd floor at 3 Chome-1-30 Shinjuku, this cozy hideaway is a must-visit for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while indulging in some feline-friendly fun.

As you ascend to the third floor, the ambiance transitions from the busy pet store below to a serene cat haven. With its compact size, Coo and Riku offers an intimate setting, perfect for cat lovers. The cafe can comfortably accommodate four guests at a time, allowing for a personal experience with its fluffy residents. Once you enter, be prepared for an overwhelming sense of warmth and joy as you are greeted by playful kittens and serene adult cats, each one looking for a little attention and affection.

For a modest entry fee, you can spoil the resident felines with a variety of cat treats, turning your visit into a delightful experience for both you and the cats. Customer reviews highlight the cozy atmosphere; Summer Wang described it as a “quaint cat cafe,” ideal for spending half an hour of uninterrupted joy. The intimate experience allows you to fully engage with these adorable creatures, marveling at their antics as they play with toys and climb the various structures designed for their amusement.

Families will find it a wonderful outing as well. Jd Toledo shared his joy, noting that his kids had an incredible time, especially when they had the cafe all to themselves, creating a personal moment filled with laughter and joy. The excitement of being surrounded by happy, calm cats—many of whom are gorgeous breeds—is something you won't soon forget. Lisa Harris noted the well-designed environment, complete with climbing zones and plenty of toys for the cats to engage fully with their playful personalities.

However, it's important to mention a consideration that has been noted in some reviews. A few visitors, like Lisa, remarked on a strong odor that can occasionally linger in the air, typical of many cat cafes. This highlights the importance of regular maintenance and cleanliness in such settings. Despite this, many customers, including Steve Colquitt, affirmed that the cafe was clean and odor-free during their visit, particularly after making sure to buy the snacks for their feline companions. It's advisable to check in advance and maybe visit at quieter times to maximize your experience.

In summary, Coo and Riku is an enchanting escape where you can unwind in the company of cats and enjoy the simplicity of their playful presence. Whether you're visiting alone, with a partner, or as a family, this cat cafe provides a unique value that reflects the love of pets and the joy they bring to our lives. Don’t miss out on this purrfect spot on your next trip to Tokyo!

Stumbled upon this quaint cat cafe and decided to spend a cozy 30 minutes there. It's tucked away on the third floor, above a pet store that occupies the first and second levels. The space is quite compact, ideally suited for about four visitors at a time, which adds to the intimate ambiance. For an entry fee, you can choose from a variety of cat treats to spoil the seven adorable feline residents. And let's be honest, is there such a thing as a cat that isn't cute? I had the place to myself after the first 10 minutes, which was a treat, allowing me to enjoy some uninterrupted cuddling time with the cats. The cafe offers an array of beverages, including coffee and tea. While the drinks aren't barista-made, the self-serve aspect means you can sip to your heart's content. A delightful little escape for cat lovers. Just a heads-up about the size – it's on the smaller side, but if you time it right, you could have all the feline company to yourself!

My kids enjoyed their time with the cats. We were the first customers so we had the entire place all by ourselves for a good 45mins. It's not as expensive as the popular one but it is well maintained and the staff was nice.

The cat cafe was all ages, so we were able to join as a family with our 6 year old son. Heaps of kittens. Gorgeous breeds, happy and calm- concidering their active days with many visitors. The environment was well placed with lots of toys, climbing zones for the cats and scratching posts. Sadly, the smell was quite pungent, urine strong, and having been a cat owner for most my life the trays needed to be better maintained. I hope the environment is improved; will result in more customers with longer stay times, we didn’t stay the full hour we paid for. The drink selection was good. Yet was not a place anyone we saw in consuming any of their drinks.

Not so much a cafe but a pet shop with a room with 8 cats. Kids loved it. Cost about $35 for 30 mins for the family. Make sure you buy the snacks. No smell in the room. Nice and clean.
